apparently europeans have the impression that US Americans never learn the metric system.

hymnsofheresy

like our science curriculum from day one is entirely done in the metric system. we just don't use metric in our day to day lives.

yeah actually we kinda just do it for the bit :)

hymnsofheresy

I have had people try to gently and kindly explain to me the workings of the metric system, as if Americans are having trouble with the concept of a base ten system. like no. we get it. we were taught this when we were like eight. it's just that like. we don't really wanna do it that way. for the bit.

hyper-dorphin

It’s like formal and informal tense.

pros of living in pixie hollow:

  • no money (no capitalism)
  • everyone lives and works together in a self sufficient community
  • you get a job in the community you know you can do, but it's not a necessity for you to do it to keep living
  • if you need help, you will get it
  • even if you start going a little evil or something, the community won't really punish you, they will try their hardest to help you
  • no prison
  • the biggest punishment really, is getting banished
  • no cars
  • no fluorescent lights
  • pretty sensory friendly
  • constantly surrounded by nature
  • get to live in and help take care of nature and the earth
  • and more

cons of living in pixie hollow:

from the past
